Uwe Stelzer obtained his PhD in chemistry from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, in 1991, in the field of chemo enzymatic synthesis, followed by one year research assignment at Stuttgart University. He joined BAYER in 1992 in Monheim, Germany, and moved to various R+D, Product Supply, management and senior leadership roles.

He worked for several years in the field of Process Research within the Division CropScience.

He then worked in various roles within Product Supply of BAYERs CropScience Divsion, including an assignment in US and as Site Manager of the Dormagen site till end of 2016. Since January 2017, he has been Head of Process and Technology Development within Engineering and Technology of BAYER.
