Maarten de Zwart is a member of the management team of the Chemical Sciences Division of the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Since he joined NWO in 2000, he has been highly involved in the management of public-private partnership programmes in chemistry with both major industries and SMEs.

Currently, he is responsible for the Innovation Fund Chemistry at NWO which supports public-private partnership programmes. In addition, he coordinates international programmes and collaborations on several subjects in chemistry within the EU, China, India and Brazil.

He leads a team that manages a variety of research programmes in chemistry and chemical engineering. Maarten de Zwart was educated as an organic chemist and took his PhD in medicinal chemistry in 2000 at Leiden University.
